Mission Statement of Emmanuel Baptist Temple

Emmanuel Baptist Temple exists for the purpose of:

Magnifying Jesus Christ through worship and the Word.
"And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:" Deuteronomy 6:5,6

Helping believers in Jesus Christ toward maturity and ministry.
"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,  as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:24,25

Making Jesus Christ known to our neighbors and the nations.
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:19,20

How to Become a Part of the Emmanuel Baptist Temple Family of Friends

Emmanuel Baptist Temple is a body of believers united by our desire to follow Jesus Christ and committed to fulfilling the purposes set forth in our Mission Statement. If you desire to join with us and will be supportive of the beliefs, fellowship, and mission of our church, we warmly invite you to become a member.

1.  Present yourself for membership during the invitation of any Worship Service or let your desire be known to one of the pastors. At the close of each Worship Service, our Pastor will extend an invitation for people to make spiritual decisions. When you come forward you will be greeted by a minister and introduced to a friend who will guide you in your decision.

2.  Express your desire for membership through one of the following means

• By profession of faith

If you will receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord and follow Him in baptism by immersion, we will welcome you into our fellowship.

• By transfer of membership from another Baptist church

As a Baptist whose membership is elsewhere, should God direct you here we will be pleased to welcome you into our church family. We will take care of the appropriate details for the transferring of your membership.

• By statement of faith

If you know in your heart that you have a saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ and have been scripturally baptized by immersion and desire to be a member of Emmanuel Baptist Temple, we will be happy to receive you. If you were once a member of a Baptist church, or your records are not available, we will accept you upon your statement of these conditions.

If your church membership is currently in another denomination and you have not been baptized by immersion as a testimony of your salvation, we would expect you to be baptized in obedience to Christ before being added to our church family.

After presenting yourself during the invitation, the minister will answer any questions you may have about this.

3.  Attend the Class for new members

The Newcomers Class is a 13 week Bible Study taught by our Pastor. It is designed for people who have recently started attending EBT and for newcomers.

This special orientation class will give you essential information to help you become a fulfilled, functioning member of our church. This class will show you how to begin building relationships in our church and will help you understand all the benefits and responsibilities of membership.
