Hebrews 9:27 - It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.
If you are unsure about your eternal destination, realizing that you must face God in judgment after you die, please read the following carefully:
I John 5:13 - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.
This verse clearly teaches that we can be 100% sure that our destination for eternity is Heaven, if we follow the plan God has given in the Bible. First of all, we must realize that we have a problem the Bible calls sin.
Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory [perfection] of God.
This problem separates us from a sinless, Holy God and a perfect place called Heaven. The Bible teaches:
Romans 5:12 - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
If the message of the Bible stopped right there, no one could ever know for sure he is were on his way to heaven. A person could try going to church, living right, or doing other good works, hoping that something done would earn a place in Heaven and make up for his or her past sin. However, according to the Bible:
Isaiah 64:6 - We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses [good works] are as filthy rags.
Good works do not make up for our past sin, and our sin problem continues to drive us farther away from God. What then can a person do? Are we all doomed to spend eternity in Hell - separated from God? Yes, unless God will show mercy (undeserved favor) to us. The Bible explains:
Titus 3:5 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us.
God can show mercy to us because He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross. God accepts His perfect sacrifice as payment for our sin. The Bible teaches:
Romans 5:8-9 - But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
You can be certain that your destination is Heaven. You simply ask Jesus Christ to save you, trusting in His death on the cross to forgive your sin and to give you the free gift of a home in Heaven. The Bible says:
Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
You now have a choice - which track will you take? Will you continue in your sin, on the track that leads to Hell; or will you receive Christ, choosing the track that leads to Heaven?
John 3:18 - He that believeth on Him [Jesus Christ] is not con-demned: but he that believeth not is condemned already.
He is able, willing, and wanting to forgive you of your sin and guarantee you a place in Heaven. What would you like to do with Jesus? He makes an invitation to you:
Revelation 3:20 - Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to him.
Will you pray this prayer to receive Christ - meaning it from your heart?
Dear God, I know I am a sinner, and because of my sin I am separated from You. I believe Your Son, Jesus, died on the cross to pay for all my sin. The best I know how, I ask forgiveness for my sin and choose to rely on Jesus, by faith, to take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you for this assurance of Heaven. Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, please let us know. We will rejoice with you and would like to encourage you in your Christian walk. |
