On December 13, 1981, I trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. Soon after, I followed the Lord in believer's baptism. After making a full surrender of my life to the Lord during a revival meeting held by Evangelist Jerry Sivnksty in 1984, God began to deal with my heart about full-time Christian service. In the fall of 1986, during an extended revival meeting held by my father, Evangelist Larry Aikens, Sr., the Lord- confirmed in my heart His calling to preach the gospel.
On June 3, 1992 I was ordained to the gospel ministry at Franklin Road Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, with Dr. Tom Wallace serving as the moderator of the ordination council. Later that same week, June 6, 1992, my wife Holly and I were married. She is a godly companion and strengthens my life and ministry. The Lord has blessed us with two children: Nathaniel Wallace, born April 5, 1994, and Jessica Marie, born July 8, 1998. Holly and I both are thankful for the Christian homes we were raised in, and we desire to pass this heritage along to our children. My testimony and the purpose for my life is expressed by Psalms 40:1-3. This passage reads, "I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God; many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD." What a joy and privilege it is to be serving the King of Kings!
