1 Samuel 18:30b - "…David behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul; so that his name was much set by."

Introduction

David was “a poor man and lightly esteemed” who became a man whose “name was much set by.”  David excelled because “the Lord was with him.”

Message: Excellence is having God’s approval and blessings on your life so that you might fulfill God’s perfect will.  David’s life was characterized by:

• Peace in his personal life,
• Poise in his public life, and
• Power in his pursuits.

Romans 8:31 says, “If God be for us, who can be against us?”  Why don’t you seek God’s approval and blessings and pursue true excellence?
