Dr. Larry Aikens
Senior Pastor |
Dr. Larry Aikens became our pastor in 2003 after serving in the ministry since 1992. He and his wife, Holly, come from conservative, independent-fundamental, Baptist backgrounds and were both involved in the ministry with their families since early childhood. His parents were discipled under the ministry of Dr. Curtis Hutson at Forrest Hills Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia, and were sent forth from there as missionaries. Dr. Aikens attended Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida, and then obtained his ministry degree in 1994 at Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, Georgia. After completing the requirements for a Master of Theology degree from Covington in 2000, he then earned his Doctorate in Theology in 2001, graduating Summa Cum Laude and receiving the Scholastic Honors Award. He and his wife, Holly, have two children, Nathaniel, and Jessica. Read his testimony and see a picture of his family. |

Dr Ed Hampton
Pastor Emeritus |
Dr. Ed Hampton is the Founding Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Temple and a graduate of Bob Jones University. Under his pastoral leadership, Emmanuel Baptist Temple in Hagerstown, Maryland, has- grown from its original 13 charter members in 1969 to more than 400. A staunch defender of Biblical inerrancy, Pastor Hampton believes in preaching the Word of God the "old fashioned way." After working with the new pastor for six months, Dr. Ed Hampton officially passed the pastoral mantle to Dr. Larry Aikens on Sunday, July 13, 2003 and assumed the honorary position of Pastor Emeritus.

Mark Chapman
Children's Pastor |
In June of 2004, Mark Chapman joined our staff after graduating from Crown College of the Bible in May of the same year. While at Crown, he received his bachelor's degree in pastoral ministry. Also at Crown College, he met his wife, Mary Lin, and they were married in May of 2004. He was saved on January 26, 1993, and surrendered to preach in April of 1994. Bro Chapman is serving as our Children's Pastor. From our Sunday morning children's churches to our Wednesday night programs, there is something for every child at EBT. |

Darren Homontowski
Music Pastor |
Darren Homontowski joined the staff of EBT as Music Pastor in August of 2006. He began attending Pensacola Christian College in 1999 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Music Education, Voice proficiency in 2003. With a growing desire to work in a local church music ministry, he continued at PCC studying for a master's degree in Choral Conducting. He completed his master's degree in December of 2005. While attending PCC, Darren met his wife Mandi, who completed her bachelor's degree in History in May of 2005. Darren and Mandi were married in August of that same year and have a baby boy, Joseph, born July 5, 2006. |
Our Support Staff

Cliff Mowen
Visitation / Bus Director |
Cliff Mowen gave his life to the Lord April 4, 1974. He and his wife, Donna, have been married for 39 years and have two daughters, Christine Tresler and Amy Bowers, who live locally. Their son, Eric, is the associate pastor at Gateway Baptist Church, in Loveland, CO. Cliff and Donna have four grandchildren, Adam, Ethan, Kenton and Caris. Cliff was a bus captain for many years and is now serving as director of our Bus Ministry. He is also our Visitation Coordinator and President of our Newcomer's Class. |

Pat Dickerhoff
Executive Assistant |
Pat Dickerhoff trusted Christ as her Savior in November 1971 and later joined the Emmanuel family in 1976. She served part-time as financial secretary from 1982 - 1988, left staff for a short time, and then rejoined staff as Church Secretary in February. With the transition of 2003 came a change in responsibilities. She now serves as Executive Assistant to Dr. Larry Aikens, Senior Pastor. Pat has three daughters, Paula Shatzer, Pam Bachman (missionary in Cameroon, West Africa), and Amy McMillin, and five grandchildren, Luke, Abigail, and Charity Bachman, and Michael and Chad McMillin. |

Diane Johns
Executive Secretary |
Diane Johns trusted Christ as her Saviour at the age of 8, while growing up in a Christian home. She attended Pensacola Christian College from 1995-2001, earning her bachelor's degree in Music Ministry and then also her Master’s degree in Church music. While working on her Master's degree, Diane began serving in the PCC Promotion Office and continued there for eight years, eventually being promoted to the position of Office Supervisor. In August 2007, Diane joined the staff of EBT as Pastor's Executive Secretary. |

Judie Lowry
Church Secretary |
Judie Lowry trusted Christ as her Savior in June of 1994 and has been a member of Emmanuel since September of 1994. She has taught Sunday School, participated in the Masters Club program, and remains active in the choir and soul winning ministry. She joined the staff in May of 2004 as church secretary and receptionist. Judie has two sons; Justin and Cody, and one granddaughter, Kaitlin.
